Apple on Monday announced that it would launch the iPhone 4 in 17 countries on Friday, July 30. Currently, the iPhone 4 is on sale in five countries: USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Japan, but from July 30 Austria users from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealanad, Singapore, Spain, and Sweden can buy iPhone 4. Unfortunately we don’t know what the pricing for the iPhone 4 will be in any of these countries.
The release is expected to continue in August with 24 additional countries. By the end of september, iPhone 4 will hit 88 countries, marking the fastest rollout for any iPhone model. Though Apple is a US company, the international market has come to play a very important role for Apple. Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook said the company’s overseas numbers were “absolutely killer.”
Meanwhile, Apple has encountered problems in producing the white version of the iPhone 4 – which has now delayed until later in the year. The iPhone 4 is currently being sold in France, Germany, Japan, the U.K., and the U.S. at a price of $199 for the 16GB edition and $299 for the 32GB model. Apple plans to bring the phone to yet more countries later this year.
